Sean McNamara, a senior at York High School in Elmhurst, Illinois, finished 12th at the 2004 Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in 15:42. He qualified for nationals by winning the inaugural Nike Team Nationals one week earlier.

MensRacing.com: How did the race go for you?
Sean McNamara:
It was really hot. I got really dehydrated.

MR: When did you start feeling that? At the start?
SM:
No, right about two miles. I was maybe top five. I can't really remember anything past that.

MR: At one and a half, you started to shake out your arms. You looked pretty comfortable at that point.
SM:
Yeah, I felt good for a while. I started overheating or something.
