The start of the 2004 Big East Cross Country Championships...
...at Franklin Park, just outside of Boston, Massachusetts.
The race featured a showdown between #5 ranked Notre Dame, #7...
...ranked Georgetown, #18 ranked Villanova, and #22...
...ranked Providence. The individual race appeared to be wide open as well.
#409 Chris Lukezic and #407 Rod Koborski move to the front in the first 400 meters.
Each team could enter up to nine runners.
Rutgers' Milo Schwab at the start of the race.
One the first lap, shortly before the mile mark, the race was led by a huge pack.
Among the leaders were #434 Tim Moore and #552 Bobby Curtis...
...as well as #464 Martin Fagan and #428 Kurt Benninger.
Also up there are #409 Chris Lukezic and #406 Rod Koborsi.
The morning started off cool, but the temperature warmed up a bit by race time.
The conditions were quite good for racing.
