Matt Lane had a strong return to the track here, finishing eighth in 7:45.72.
Kevin Sullivan used a strong kick to finish third in 7:44.46, a new Canadian record.
Nick Willis also had a strong kick, finishing fifth in 7:44.90, a new collegiate record.
Gebrselassie said after the race - much to the delight of the locals - that he would like to return to Boston and run the B.A.A. Boston Marathon.
Geneti finished second in 7:41.06.
