L-R: Goklish, Ritzenhein, and Iona's Sean Connolly run up front just past the 200m mark.
Baylor senior Kyle King.
Montana's Ford.
Ritzenhein takes over a solo lead with Cragg tucked in behind. Cragg generally has better finishing speed...
...than Ritzenhein, so it was in Ritzenhein's best interest to set a decent pace.
R-L: Cragg, Stanford's Ian Dobson, and Richard Kiplagat follow.
Kiplagat, a sophomore from Kenya, was one of three Iona runners in the race.
Ritzenhein continues to lead Cragg, Dobson, and the rest of the field.
The leaders hit the first kilometer in 2:48 and the second in 5:36.
Cragg would later say that the early pace felt very easy.
Montana's Ford.
Ritzenhein, of the University of Colorado, continues to lead.
