With just over one lap to go, Smith continues to lead but the field is bunched closely behind him.
Nebraska's Milkevics wound up finishing sixth in 1:48.97.
With about 150 meters to go, Nate Brannen made a big move which put him in the lead...
...down the home stretch. He was able to hold his lead all the way to the finish.
Brannen earned his second-straight NCAA Indoor 800m title with a 1:47.61.
A junior at Michigan, Brannen had already planned to redshirt the outdoor season...
