With one lap to go in the men's 1,500 final, the relatively slow early pace...
...meant that it was anyone's race, but one that would favor the strong kickers.
BYU's Nate Robison took the lead from Villanova's Tom Parlapiano early in the last lap...
...and led through the 1,200m mark in 3:05.2.
Villanova's Tom Parlapiano leads with BYU's Nate Robison moving up.
Arkansas' duo of Said Ahmed and Chris Mulvaney runs in about...
...sixth and seventh places.
Down the homestretch, BYU's Nate Robison led, but Chris Mulvaney...
...unleased a great kick to reel in Said Ahmed, Don Sage, and Robison.
Mulvaney, a senior, won his first NCAA outdoor title in 3:44.72.
Robison, a junior, finished a close second in 3:44.94.
Don Sage, the 2002 champion, finished third in 3:45.03.
Mulvaney, a native of Great Britain, said after the race, "I just tried to stay relaxed...
...through the race, but it was a tough one today because I didn't feel great..."
"But I knew I had to dig down and get the points for the team. We're already in a good position and obviously..."
"...this just put us in a better position to win the national championship."
Arkansas ended up winning the team title with plenty of room to spare.
Robison showed that he'd be one to watch in the future.

Myers finished fourth in 3:45.17, but would come back strong with a third-place finish in July's U.S. Olympic Trials.
