Jebreh Harris leads on the first lap, with Jonathan Johnson right behind.
Johnson won the NCAA title one month earlier and looked good in the first round.

Jonathan Johnson finished second in 1:47.19 after shutting it down.

...event, finished third in 1:47.30 to advance. Jebreh Harris...
...grabbed the last spot in the final by finishing fourth in 1:47.36.
Mike Inge (far left, 5th, 1:47.40) leaned across the finish but just came up short of advanciing.
Jebreh Harris advanced to the final by a narrow margin.
Marc Sylvester finished sixth in 1:47.63 and did not advance.
