Johnathan Johnson, who just finished his junior year at Texas Tech...
...leads in the homestretch of the 800m at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials.
Johnson held off a strong charge from Khadevis Robinson to win...
...in 1:44.77. It was Johnson's first USA title and first Olympic team.
Khadevis Robinson claimed second place in 1:44.91.
Johnson was one of the most fun winners to watch, because his elation was evident.
Derrick Peterson qualified for his first Olympic team by finishing third in 1:45.08.

...fourth place finish (1:45.67). Above: Johnson looked happier than a kid in a candy store.
