Mark Menefee moves to the front of the first 5,000m semifinal and picks up the pace.
Adam Goucher and Eric Savoth lead the rest of the field.
Stanford graduate Louis Luchini runs in the pack.
The Nike Oregon Project's Chad Johnson leads Kentucky's Thomas Morgan.
Menefee continues to lead and Eric Savoth takes over second place.
Thomas Morgan recently finished out his eligibility at the University of Kentucky.
Mark Menefee continues to lead but the rest of the field begins to close the gap.
Matt Lane leads Louis Luchini.
Surprisingly, Adam Goucher begins to drop back.
Morgan was the SEC Cross Country Champion in 2003.
Team USA Monterey Bay's Ryan Bak ran well until just over a mile to go...
...when he got tangled up with one of his competitors and took a hard fall.
Matt Lane and Eric Savoth overtake Mark Menefee.
Chad Johnson runs in seventh place.
Seth Hejny finished eighth in 13:49.62 and was the final time qualifier for the final.
Bak opted to limp through the final mile because he didn't want to see a DNF next to his name.

Adam Goucher dropped back in the final laps and finished 10th in 13:58.55. His failure to advance...
...was the biggest surprise of the semis. Above: Matt Gonzales (right) kicked to a win in 13:44.19.
Chad Johnson (2nd, 13:44.53), Eric Savoth (3rd, 13:44.55), and Matt Lane (4th, 13:44.99) all finished within a second of him and advanced.
