Michael Bunker of Bucksport, Maine runs on the right side of the road, out of traffic.
Ryan Gough, 20, of Keene, New Hampshire, runs with the lead pack.
John Mortimer and Dereck Treadwell lead...
...with Erik Nedeau close behind.
John Mortimer pulled ahead relatively early on, with Dereck Treadwell in second.
Mortimer, who designed the course himself, seemed to know where...
...to push and where to relax, and he used his knowledge of the course to his advantage.
A couple of Maine natives, Erik Nedeau and Dereck Treadwell, follow Mortimer.
Mortimer continues to lead...
...and (R-L) Nedeau, Treadwell, and Nate Jenkins give chase.
Mortimer hung on to win the race in 4:00.1. This was his first victory here.
