The masters milers kicked the event off. Tom Dalton (above) finished second in 4:25.50.
Scott Brown finished sixth in 4:32.52.
Doug Martyn won an exciting race with a strong kick, finishing in 4:24.67.
Nathan Brannen, Michigan's Canadian freshman miler strides out as the mile competitors are introduced.
Bryan Berryhill, an NCAA 1,500m champion while at Colorado State, is introduced.
2000 Olympic bronze medalist and 2001 World Championship silver medallist Bernard Lagat.
Justin Niedzialek was the designated rabbit.
Bernard Lagat (#20) heads off in pursuit...
...And Bryan Berryhill (#14) leads the second pack.
Niedzialek takes the field through 400m in approximately 57 seconds.
Daniel Zegeye of Ethiopia trails Lagat (who remained tucked in behind Niedzialek).
Bryan Berryhill leads the pack through 400m.
George Milik trails the pack. Milik finished fourth in the New Balance Games one week earlier.
At 600 meters Bryan Berryhill follows Daniel Zegeye and #15 Ibrahim Aden follows Berryhill.
Bernard Lagat hits the 800 meter mark in 1:55.9 and is on his own.
Berryhill continues to lead the chase pack, #10 on the outside is Canadian Olympian and Michigan coach Kevin Sullivan.
Milik remains latched on to the back of Berryhill's pack.
Berryhill continues to keep his eye on Lagat, 1000 meters into the race.
Nathan Brannen (who rooms with Alan Webb at Michigan) ran a 4:03.20 at this meet last year as a high school senior.
With two laps to go, Lagat appears to be home free.
