L-R: Kenyan trio Sammy Korir, Titus Munji and Paul Tergat.
Korir was one of Tergat's designated rabbits.
Despite five tries at the marathon and a 2:05:48 PR, Tergat had not yet won one.
On a perfect day for running, Tergat shattered Khalid Khannouchi's...
...world record by 43 seconds, running 2:04:55.
Sammy Korir finished just one second behind Tergat.
Tergat became the first man under 2:05 (and Korir the second).
Tergat's other rabbit, Titus Munji (not pictured) finished third in 2:06:15.

Andreas Espinosa, 40, of Mexico set a masters world record of 2:08:46.
Espinosa broke the record by 1:47 and was only 1:27 off his own PR.
Japan's Yasuko Hashimoto won the women's race in 2:26:32.
This was just Hashimoto's third marathon.
