With about a half mile to go, James Koskei, Thomas Kiplitan and Shadrack Kosgei...
...were all together, clearly working hard. Kiplitan crossed the finish line first (13:29)...
...with Koskei second (13:31) and Kosgei third (13:37).
R-L: Yevgen Bozhko, Mohammed Amyne and Paul Mwangi. Amyne finished fourth (13:46)...
...Bozhko fifth (13:48) and Mwangi seventh (13:52).
El Arbi Khattabi, 36, of Morocco finished sixth in 13:52.
Khattabi again.
Jackson Kipngok, 42, won the masters race and finished eighth in 14:03.
Henry Dennis' front-running strategy paid off and he finished ninth overall...
...and pulled of a big upset to win the USA 5k championship in 14:05.
Dennis hails from Cincinnati, OH but represents Wisconsin Runner.
Ahman Dirks - also a surprise - finished one second and one place behind Dennis.
Ryan Shay was the third American and 11th overall in 14:06.
Pete Julian (trailing Shay) finished 12th in 14:10.
Eddy Hellebuyck, 42, finished 14th in 14:13 and set a pending U.S. masters record.
Chris Graff finished 13th in 14:12.
