Matt Withrow holds on to win the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships.
Shadrack Kiptoo led Galen Rupp as they approached the line, but Rupp did just as his...
...coach has always told him, and ran the whole way through the line to nip Kiptoo 14:57 to 14:58.
Ben True finished fifth in 15:02. Note that Gavin Coombs, who was unable to run, is visible in the background.
Christian Wagner finished seventh in 15:14.
Ryan Deak finished sixth in 15:13. Last year, running for the South, he finished 12th here.
His family moved from Florida to Colorado to help him adjust to the altitude before...
...he begins running at the University of Colorado next fall.
Stuart Eagon finished eighth in 15:19 and, with the help of Rupp's runner-up finish...
...made Oregon the first state to have two runners finish.
Garrett Heath finished 10th in 15:22.
Victor Gras finished ninth in 15:21.
Mohamed Trafeh finished 11th in 15:24.
Bradley Harkrader (blurry here) finished 12th in 15:24.
#74 Scott MacPherson lead South teammates James Strang (#73)...
...and Andrew Bumbalough (#75) in the home stretch, but Bumbalough (13th, 15:30)...
...got the edge over MacPherson (14th, 15:30) and Strang (16th, 15:31).
With the top 15 runners receiving All-America honors, there was an intense fight for these spots.
Evan Garber passed Strang to earn the final spot (15th, 15:31).
Ryan Gasper finished 18th in 15:34.
