Wilson Kigen of Kenya.
Kenyans took 13 of the top 23 spots.
Matt Downin (17th, 2:18:48) was the top U.S. finisher in his marathon debut.
Andrey Gordeyev of Belarus finished 16th in 2:18:38.
Phillimon Hanneck was the second U.S. finisher (21st, 2:20:12).
Hanneck represented Zimbabwe at the 1992 Olympic Games and became a U.S. citizen in 1999.
Simon Wangai of Kenya.
Wangai is part of a large contingent of Kenyans who spend part of the year training in Pennsylvania.
Vincenzo Modica of Italy finished 20th in 2:19:53.
Modica won a silver medal in the 1999 World Championship marathon behind Abel Anton.
Uli Steidl of Germany, a 1999 graduate of the University of Portland.
