Brown had finished third in the 800 at the U.S. Junior T&F Championships two weeks earlier in 1:50.16.
Brown went on to win in a meet-record 1:52.79 with Brophy second in 1:53.72.
Craig Donnelly of Montgomery (NJ) High School finished fifth in 1:58.22.
Rich Lehman of Prince Andrew High School finished fourth in 1:57.09.
Nick Mahalec of Belmont Hill (MA) finished 11th in 2:03.55.

Dave Englehutt of Canada's Prince Andrew High School.
Robert Winslow finished 10th in 4:34.45.
Shaw continues to lead True, Englehutt and Marcotte on lap three.
