Though the front runners stayed on or near 13:21 pace early on, they appeared to be working too hard to keep it up.
Nick Rogers leads the group of runners who weren't chasing the "A" standard.

Luchini grew up in Ellsworth, Maine and was a crowd favorite.
Ryan Kirkpatrick takes over the lead of the chase pack.
Kirkpatrick recently finished ninth in the 10,000m at the USA T&F Championships.

Aish stayed right behind the pacesetter, Powers, until he dropped out at 3,000 meters.
Kirkpatrick continues to lead the chase pack.

Once Powers dropped out, Aish led with Riley and Luchini close behind.
