Luchini had recently finished 2nd in the 5,000m at the NCAA meet and 5th at the USA Champs.
Ryan Kirkpatrick finished sixth in 14:01.90.
Ben Cooke finished ninth in 14:04.53.
Matt Gabrielson of Team USA Minnesota (14th, 14:24.59) leads Aaron Moody of Team Eugene (12th, 14:21.91).
Nick Rogers finished 15th in 14:26.49.
Cain Williams finished 13th in 14:23.70.
Heat one of two in the mile, Kevin Elliott -- who had run the 800 earlier in the meet -- sets the pace.
Mike Hummell runs in second place.
Anthony Gallo of the Syracuse Chargers leads Jason Jabaut of Villanova.
