Casey Moulton leads the race, but the expected contenders...
...stay within close range.
Right around the 800-meter mark...
...the pack swallowed up Moulton.
Fittingly, race founder and director John Mortimer (#594) leads the way...
...down the hill.
Also up front are #460, co-race founder Andy Downin...
...#600 Sean O'Brien, a former NCAA All-American...
...in the 1,500m for American University, and #568 Nick MacFalls.
Lubert Lewis (far right), best known for his 800m speed, also stalked the leaders.
Also up front, second from left, is the BAA's Tyler McCabe.
The race starts at John Mortimer's old high school, Londonderry...
...and runs one mile down the road and finishes just past Mack's Apples...
...Farm Market. The race record of 3:51 is held jointly by...
...Scott Anderson (1999) and Andy Downin (2001).
The race really began as the leaders passed the 1200-meter mark.
No one made a big move, but Sean O'Brien slowly began to pull away.
After the race, O'Brien learned that Nick MacFalls (right) will...
...become his roommate in the near future when O'Brien heads out...
...to Palo Alto to train with the Nike Farm Team.
