Lockhart had told a reporter before the race, "I don't see how I can lose." He, finished second in the extremely close race with a 4:18.02.
Ahmed (3rd, 4:19.88) leads Brian McGovern (5th, 4:21.27) of CT and Schneider.
Shane Stroup of MD (8th, 4:24.18).
Eventual winner Nick Schneider of Benilde-St. Margaret's H.S. in St. Louis Park, MN.
Brian Boyett (4th, 4:20.02) leads Alex Bloom (9th, 4:32.36) of CT.
Schneider edged out Lockhart by .14 in a dramatic finish with a 4:17.88.
Washington State grad and Olympic bronze medalist at 1,500m, Bernard Lagat gets ready for the Wanamaker Mile.

Olympic 1,500m finalist Jason Pyrah finished 7th in 4:02.07.
Olympic 5th place finisher at 1,500m, Kevin Sullivan (6th, 4:01.73) trails the Olympic 6th place finisher, Daniel Zegeye (8th, 4:05.77).
Lagat edged out Rotich for the victory in yet another close race - 3:58.26 to 3:58.40.
Stember of Stanford had a disappointing race in 9th (4:14.31) but rebounded two days later at the New Balance Invitational.
