Somewhere past 3.5 miles, the lead pack, from left to right, consists of...
...Silverus Kimeli of Oklahoma, Adam Tenforde, Don Sage, Neil Davis...
... and Louis Luchini all of Stanford, and and Chris Powers of Indiana.
Luchini, somewhat by design, won the race in 23:55.
Stanford swept the top four spots, with Sage second (23:56), Tenforde third (23:57)...
...and Davis fourth (23:58). Kimeli faded to finish 10th in 24:17.
Powers (right) finished sixth in 24:04.
Sean Jefferson of Indiana moved up to finish fifth in 24:01.
Butler's Olly Laws and Stanford's Seth Hejny were both credited with seventh place in 24:10.3.
Butler's Nick Goodliffe finished ninth in 24:16.
Stanford's Andrew Hill finished 13th in 24:24.
