Chris Mulvaney, Don Sage, Brendon Mahoney and David Kimani get set to kick.
Don Sage wins the second heat of the mile in 4:01.80, Christian Goy is second in 4:02.09, Kimani, Atwater, Mahoney, Tolman and Mulvaney also advance.
Chris Emme of Stanford, Chris Powers of Indiana and Louis Luchini of Stanford at the start of the 5,000m final.
Alistair Cragg of Arkansas takes the pace early on. He's joined by Ryan Shay of Notre Dame, Tom McArdle of Dartmouth, and everyone else in the field close behind.
Shay took on the pacesetting duties early on, the first two kilometers passed in 2:48 each, according to the announcer.
When the pace picked up, the pack was whittled down to Cragg, Jorge Torres (#57), Shay, Jason Sandfort, Shay and Tom McArdle.
Daniel Lincoln and Alistair Cragg of Arkansas follow Shay.
Chris Powers finished 12th in 14:18.05.
Tom McArdle of Dartmouth ran just behind the leaders for much of the race.
#55 Dathan Ritzenhein, CU's star freshman, makes an appearance up front.
In the middle and late stages of the race, there seemed to be a new leader each lap.
Eventually it came down to the two Arkansas runners, Lincoln and Cragg, vs. the two CU runners, Torres and Ritzenhein.
The home crowd was unbelievably enthusiastic when the two Arkansas runners took the lead.
Cragg made a break and Torres and Ritzenhein charged furiously on the last lap but were unable to make up the gap.
Cragg won in 13:49.80. Torres was second in 13:50.35, Ritzenhein third in 13:50.51 and Lincoln fourth in 13:57.71. Arkansas freshman Jason Sandfort held on for fifth (14:00.65).
Cragg takes his victory lap.
In the DMR Martin Allegyer of SMU, Nathan Sisco of Wake Forest, Isaiah Festa of Wisconsin and Toby Henkels of Minnesota run the leadoff leg (1,200m) for their teams.
L-R on the 1,200m leg, Texas' Jordan McCambridge, Nathan Sisco, Northern Iowa's Oliver Bodor and Toby Henkels.
By the 800m leg, Villanova's Jason Jabaut already had a lead, which he continued to build on.
On the 1,600m leg it's Grant Robison for Stanford, Chris Duncan for Florida and Josh Spiker for Wisconsin.
But out in the lead, it's Villanova's Adrian Blincoe, who got the baton with a decent lead and just had to hold on to it.
Josh Spiker leads the chase pack.
David Kimani, who's tripling (mile, DMR and 3,000) here, runs in second for Alabama.
At some point the chase pack seemed to be gaining, but Blincoe picked up the pace and was never in serious danger of being caught.
Josh Spiker outkicked David Kimani for second, 9:32.31 to 9:32.97.
Blincoe crosses the finish line for the victorious Villanova team, their time was 9:31.00.
