Etoot was one of the favorites here after he defeated 2002 champion Otukile Lekote to win the SEC title.
TCU's Langat and Alabama's Etoot lead.
Sam Burley hangs out in the back of pack.
With one lap to go, Langat and Etoot continue to lead.
R-L: Chad Johnson, Sappleton, O'Connell and Doaty.
Burley moved up to win (1:48.26) and Langat held on for second (1:48.36).
Jesse O'Connell had the misfortune of finishing third (1:48.82) in the slower heat and did not advance. Nor did Etoot, who faded to seventh.
Otukile Lekote was considered to be the favorite here.

Minnesota's Henkels finished sixth (1:48.64) and grabbed the last qualifying spot.
Lekote leads Lee.
Lekote and Lee again.
R-L: Lekote, Lee, Stevens, Brannen and Smith.
All of the time qualifiers came from the second heat as the top six advanced.
Lekote finished first (1:47.70), Lee second (1:47.75), Stevens third (1:47.90), Brannen fourth (1:47.98) and Sharpe fifth (1:48.09)
