1.
Joel Atwater (next to Clay Schwabe) gets airborne waiting for
the start of 1,500m heat one.
2. Atwater and Texas A&M soph. Tommy Bonn (10th,
3:51.63).
3. L-R: Villanova frosh. Ryan Hayden (the fastest non-qualifier
at 3:45.96), multiple-time NCAA Champ. David Kimani, Olympian
Michael Stember and Adrian Blincoe.
4. Stember (4th, 3:43.96) and Blincoe (2nd, 3:43.61)
both advanced to the final.
5. L-R: Atwater, Hayden, Kimani, Christian Goy, Eliud
Njubi, Stember and Blincoe.
6. After falling in his prelim. at NCAA indoors and failing
to advance to the final, Clay Schwabe managed to stay upright
here and successfully advanced (5th, 3:44.12).
7. Kimani barely sneaked in to the final with his 3:44.73
7th place.
8. Christian Goy (3rd, 3:43.88).
9. Heat two - L-R: Gabe Jennings (3rd, 3:43.18), Jason
Long (7th, 3:48.36), Brick Bergeson (6th, 3:47.15) and Bryan
Berryhill (1st, 3:41.83).
10. Bergeson and Berryhill lead.
11. Berryhill checks out the field.
12. Stanford freshman Don Sage (2nd, 3:42.90) joins Gabe
Jennings (3rd, 3:43.18) and Bryan Berryhill at the front with
about 250 meters to go.
