www.mensracing.com   1. Oregon senior Michael Kasahun with UTEP freshman Alvaro Jimenez.
2. Stanford freshman Seth Hejny finished 10th in 13:58.91.
3. Bolota Asmeron (followed by David Kimani and Matt Lane) looked like he might run away with the race.
4. Jon Riley followed on the tail end of the pack.
5. Riley, Asmerom, Kimani and Lane entered the final straightaway together.
6. Riley pulled off the mild upset with a superior kick, winning in 13:42.51.
7. Asmeron (13:43.13), Kimani (13:44.42) and Lane (13:44.99) went 2-3-4.
8. Riley is congratulated by teammate Michael Stember.
9. Riley, atop the podium, seemed to have a permanent smile fixed to his face for hours after the race.
