2. Gabe Jennings, Christian Goy and Michael Stember.
3. Goy and Stember midway back in the pack just past
300m.
4. Stanford freshman Don Sage, followed by UTEP's Bashar
Ibrahim and Army's Clay Schwabe.
5. Bryan Berryhill using the frontrunning strategy that
worked so well for him at NCAA indoors, followed by David Kimani,
Goy, Joel Atwater, Stember and Jennings.
6. Kimani, Goy, Atwater, Stember and Jennings.
7. Jennings and Sage near the back of the pack.
8. Gabe Jennings put in a strong last lap surge but Bryan
Berryhill, also the 2001 indoor 1,500m champion, held him off,
winning in 3:37.05.
9. Jennings, the reigning USATF 1,500m champion, finished
second in 3:37.56.
10. American University sophomore Sean O'Brien finished
10th in 3:46.83.
11. Don Sage's 5th place 3:39.27 was a Stanford freshman
school record.
12. Berryhill, an Oregon native, was well-liked by the
crowd. |
