The start of the steeplechase final.
L-R: Bashar Ibrahim, Luke Watson, Jeremy Tolman, Jesse Thomas and Jordan Desilets.
Martin Allegyer of SMU went straight to the lead and set a quick pace, Daniel Lincoln went with him.
Tulane's Solomon Kandie and CU's Steve Slattery also went out quickly, separating themselves from the pack.
Slattery, a senior at CU, runs in third.
Allegyer wasn't able to hold his quick pace for long.
The main pack is led by UTEP's Ibrahim and Wisconsin's Isaiah Festa.
Lincoln runs in the lead with Slattery and Kandie not far back.
Allegyer runs in fourth, ahead of the main pack.
Festa and Ibrahim.
Ibrahim leads Festa and Watson.
Daniel Lincoln looked like a man on a mission here.
One year ago he won a very close steeple race at this meet, this year he was in a class by himself.
Solomon Kandie's race here represented the end of Tulane track as the program is being cut.
Florida senior Chris Duncan.
Jeremy Tolman of Weber State had one of the fastest times coming in but seemed to be struggling at this meet.
In the year since he won his first NCAA steeplechase title, Daniel Lincoln has improved significantly...
...establishing himself as one of the best distance runners in the NCAA.
Slattery runs in second.
Wisconsin's Isaiah Festa.
