About 1,700 meters into the race, everyone is still in contention.
The pack stretches out behind the leaders.

Exactly halfway through the race, Luchini continues to set the pace.
R-L: Luchini, Moran, Menefee, Boaz Cheboiywo, Cragg, Watson, Hejny, Logsdon and Sean Graham.
Luchini went through the 1,600 in 4:36 and 3,200 in 9:06.
R-L: Luchini, Moran, Menefee, Cragg, Graham, Hejny and Cheseret.
Just after the two-mile mark, Menefee sets the pace.
Eastern Michigan's Boaz Cheboiywo moves up on the outside.
Kentucky's Morgan and Miami-Ohio's Mitchell trail the pack.
With three laps to go, all of the major contenders are still in the race.
Menefee and Luchini continue to lead.
With two laps to go, Luchini leads with Cragg right on his heels.
Notre Dame's Watson and Stanford's Hejny run at the back of the lead pack.
