Past 7k, the main pack closes in on some of the stragglers out front.
Grant Robison, Don Sage and Ian Dobson lead the way.
Also in there are Matt Tegenkamp, Louis Luchini, Gavin Thompson, Mark Tucker and Richard Kiplagat.
This group passed through 8k in 23:49 -- 31 seconds behind the leaders (Cragg and Torres) but not far behind Lincoln, McArdle, Cheboiywo and Kimani.
Ed Torres runs in about 15th place, SMU's Mindaugas Pukstas follows.
Ed Torres moved up about five places in the final 2k.
Pukstas, a sophomore, originally hails from Lithuania.
Villanova senior Adrian Blincoe.
BYU sophmore Kip Kangogo was considered to be one of the top contenders here after having a great season...
...But an injury at the regional race weakened him and he struggled here.
Between 8k and 9k it was down to a two-man race...
...between Arkansas' Alistair Cragg and Colorado's Jorge Torres.
Torres had finished second a year ago and Cragg third.
Cragg was unable to beat this man, David Kimani, all season, but he finally broke Kimani here.
Kimani won this race in 1999, as a freshman, but was out of contention here as soon as he dropped off the lead group.
