In the third mile, Adam Sutton is still on his own in the lead.
One year earlier, Sutton finished second in this meet to teammate Hamish Thorpe.
More than halfway through the race, Trinity's Ryan Bak runs alongside Providence's Tyler McCabe and Patrick Moulton.
Bak's strong run here showed that he should be considered a contender for a Division III national title this season.
Providence College placed all seven of their runners in the top 25 and all finished under 25:00.
