Mark Hassell hands off to Jonathon Riley and Chris Mulvaney hands off to Alistair Cragg.
It was essentially down a two-team race between Stanford and Arkansas at the handoff.
Corey Smith (4:06.5) anchors for Georgetown.
Erik Schmidt (4:05.5) anchors for Navy.
Joe Stegall (no split available) anchors for Georgia Tech.
John Kemboi anchors for Abilene Christian.
Brendan Fitzgibbon anchors for Duke.
Kevin Gallagher anchors for Princeton.
Alan Webb anchors for Michigan. Ironically, he and Adrian Blincoe...
...got their batons at nearly the same time, in 12th and 13th place.
Tom Bonn anchors for Texas A&M.
Jon Riley runs the 1,600 leg for Stanford and Alistair Craig runs for Arkansas.
Georgetown's Corey Smith runs in third.
Wake Forest's Chris Estwanik split 4:01.8.
Duke wound up 12th in 10:01.95.
Alan Webb and Adrian Blincoe try to work their way up through the field together.
Blincoe's Villanova team was the defending champion but two baton fumbles took them out of the race immediately.
Riley runs in the lead for Stanford.
Alistair Cragg stays right on Riley's heels.
A race shapes up for third place among UConn's Dan Wilson, Navy's Erik Schmidt, Georgetown's Corey Smith and Abilene Christian's John Kemboi (with other contenders right behind).
