Northport (NY) celebrates their victory in the DMR Championship.
The start of the high school boys' mile.
400+ meters into the race, L-R: Russell Brown, Adam Breisch, Victor Gras, Matt DeBole and Chris Spooner.
Also up there is Alex Hodgkinson (#2, in blue) from the St. Albans School in England.
With less than two laps to go, Gras and DeBole lead.
With one lap to go, pre-race favorite Matt DeBole is in the lead.
But John Richardson of Ocean City (NJ) used a strong kick to steal the victory.
Richardson, a relative unknown, seemed as surprised as anyone by his victory.
His winning time was 4:11.80 with Christopher Kollar second (4:12.11) and Gras third (4:12.69).
DeBole finished fourth in 4:13.41.
Eventual runner up (8:30.16) Ian Fitzgerald early on in the high school boys' 3,000m.
R-L: Pht Philbin leads Matt Redden and Kyle Heath.
Mike Kenny of Hatboro-Horsham (PA) finished 13th in 8:46.69.
Brian Dalpiaz of Sayville (NY) led right from the start.
Sean Quigley of Archbishop Williams (MA) ran in second place early on.
Mohamed Khadraoui of John F. Kennedy (NJ) finished sixth in 8:36.10.
Keith Kreider of New Jersey's Cherokee High School.
Bobby Papazian of Gill St. Bernard's (NJ) finished eighth in 8:40.84.
Defending champion Brian Dalpiaz continues to lead.
Chase Pizzonia of Darien (CT) leads Eric Pauley of Gaithersburg (MD).
