The start of the Olympic Development Mile.

Shadrack Kosgei won the 5,000m two nights earlier in a meet-record 13:16.47.
R-L: Will Elson, Kurt Michaelis, Chris Hendricks-Buxton and Gary Murray.
Emase (15th, 4:21.77), Long (3rd, 4:03.99) and Elson (13th, 4:09.28).
Also in there is Scott Anderson (#1, 7th, 4:05.98).
John Honerkamp of the NYAC finished 11th in 4:08.81.
With one lap to go, Shadrack Kosgei continues to lead but almost everyone is still in contention.
Also in the front are Michaelis (8th, 4:06.05), Ryan Bak of Trinity (4th, 4:04.09) and Elson.
Shadrack Kosgei kicked to win in 4:02.41.
James Thie (4:03.86) edged out Jason Long (4:03.99) and Ryan Bak.
Ryan Bak of Trinity (an NCAA DIII school in Hartford, CT) has had a stellar year so far.
Gary Murray of St. Malachy's Old Boys finished ninth in 4:06.28.
Jason Long, a JMU graduate, runs for the newly-founded DC Track Club.

Arkansas' Chad Grundy finished 10th in 4:06.95, showing what kind of depth his team has.

The start of the College Men's 4x800m Championship.
L-R: Michael Jordan, Tony Giammarco, Moise Joseph, Frank Francois, Paul Ciurlys, Chris Mulvaney and Stanley LaGrenade.
Paul Ciurlys (1:50.6) leads Chris Mulvaney (1:50.3).
Michigan's Jeremy Schneider (1:57.7 - dropped baton), La Salle's Tony Giammarco and Georgetown's Stanley LaGrenade (1:51.5).
At the exchange, Kentucky's Hunter Spencer leads Arkansas' James Hatch (1:48.2) and Tennessee's Ken Schappert.
