1. The extremely track-savvy crowd was amazing throughout the meet -- here, they're on their feet as the runners head into the final 200 meters.
2. El Guerrouj finishes in 3:49.92, the fastest time ever run on U.S. soil.
3. Sullivan is 2nd in 3:51.82 with a tightly-bunched group behind him.
4. Closer to the back of the pack than the front with one lap to go, Webb took off, running his last lap in 55.1 seconds (unofficially) and and putting him right behind Lagat (3rd, 3:53.14) and Kaouch (3:53.40).
5. Crossing the finish line in 3:53.43, ahead of NCAA 1,500m top seed Berryhill.
6. Webb obliterated Jim Ryun's 1965 3:55.3 U.S. high school record. Though some speculated pre-race that Webb had a shot at the record, few people, including Webb and his coach Scott Raczko, thought he'd go quite that fast.
7. What's next for Webb? Next week's Virginia high school state meet, of course.
8. El Guerrouj congratulates Webb. El Guerrouj told the media, "I can see him becoming my No. 1 rival if he really works at it."
9. It's official.
