This was Jorge Torres' first professional race; he showed up in Reebok gear, indicating that he had signed a contract with them.
Matt Lane continues to set the pace.
R-L: Lane, Abdi Abdirahman, Torres, Brendan Rogers and Jonathon Riley.
Lane and Rogers lead.
R-L: Rogers, Matt Gabrielson, Bob Kennedy and Tim Broe.
This was the first time Bob Kennedy and Adam Goucher had raced each other since the 2001 USA Championships.
R-L: Brad Hauser, Paul Kezes, Seth Hejny and Nick Rogers.
Jason Fayant leads Chad Johnson.
Tim Broe takes over the lead. Broe switched to the 5,000 this year...
...after running (and having disappointing races) in the steeplechase in previous USA Championships.
R-L: Torres, Louis Luchini, Gabrielson, Goucher, Karl Savage, Riley and Hauser.
Abdirahman, who ran the 10,000m final the previous evening, takes over the lead again.
R-L: Abdirahman, Luchini, Kennedy, Torres, Goucher and Broe.
Nick Rogers finished an uncharacteristic 20th in 14:17.29.
Bob Kennedy took over the lead here and really broke open the race.
Abdirahman, Torres, Luchini, Goucher, Savage and Riley follow.
Goucher leads Savage.
Alan Culpepper, who won the 10,000m one night earlier, never really got in the race. He finished 9th here (13:51.66)
Ben Dawson leads Brendan Rogers.
Jason Fayant finished 21st in 14:17.80.
