WOMEN'S PHOTOS

L-R: Steve Slattery, Robert Gary and Daniel Lincoln run together at the front of the steeplechase final.
The top three would qualify for the World Championship team that would represent the U.S. in Paris in August.
Unlike other distance events, the steeplers were able to run under the World Championships "A" standard...
...meaning that the top three would automatically go to Paris.
Anthony Famiglietti continues to run in fourth place.
Tom Chorny, the 2001 champion at this meet, runs in sixth place.
Jordan Desilets was the runner-up in the NCAA steeplechase final eight days earlier.
Sandu Rebenciuc leads Isaiah Festa.
Festa finished fourth in the NCAA steeplechase final and had used up his NCAA eligibility.
Lincoln pulled away and looked like he might run away with the race with less than 600 meters to go.
Many considered Lincoln to be the favorite heading in...
...but Robert Gary had also run well earlier in the season.
Chorny closes in on Famiglietti.
Tom Kloos finished ninth in 8:38.98.
Wisconsin alum Jared Cordes splashes out of the water pit.

Montana State's Lyle Weese.

Daniel Lincoln led over the final water barrier but his lead had shrunk over the previous 400 meters.
Suddenly Lincoln looked vulnerable and it was back to being a three-man race.
Steve Slattery flew through the final 150 meters to earn a surprising win in 8:23.58.
Lincoln finished second (8:24.10) and Gary third (8:24.82).
