Texas Tech's Jonathan Johnson jumped out to a sizeable lead on the first lap.
Johnson finished second in the NCAA 800m final a week earlier.
Khadevis Robinson, David Krummenacker and Floyd Thompson follow.
Jesse Strutzel and Bryan Woodward also run in the pack.
Despite his early-week doubts, it was no surprise to see Krummenacker win here in 1:45.53.
Krummenacker won the World Indoor 800m title this past winter.
Krummenacker described his experiences in this race in his journal on Track & Field News' web site.
Khadevis Robinson passed Johnson to take second (1:46.21) and Johnson hung on for third (1:46.76).
Floyd Thompson finished fourth in 1:46.78.
Bryan Woodward finished eighth in 1:50.32.
Johnson watches the replay of the race. Though he was eligible for an World Championship berth, he opted to end his season here.
