Corey Nowitzke (5th, 9:23.41) leads Alan Walker (6th, 9:26.62).
Daniel Lyon finished eighth in 9:35.58.
Zackary Wood finished 14th in 9:57.56.
Charles Keating finished 15th in 10:22.86.
The start of the junior 1,500m final. The top two would qualify...
...to represent the U.S. at the Junior Pan Am Games in July.
L-R: Adam Perkins, Tyler Raymond, Chris Lukezic and Jeremy Doherty.
Lukezic, a 1,500m finalist at the previous week's NCAA Championships...
...and the defending champion was considered the favorite here.
Illinois State's Jeremy Doherty leads with three laps to go, Kansas' Cameron Schwehr is close behind.
Missouri High Schooler Adam Perkins had opted to forego running for his high school...
...this season so that he could travel to far-away meets, something which the MSHSAA prohibits.
Though Perkins hadn't run as well as he expected, he will head to the University of Arkansas...
...next fall where he will undoubtedly be in good hands.
With one lap to go, Chris Lukezic led with Perkins (last year's runner-up) in second.
Also in pursuit were (R-L) Jeremy Doherty, Cameron Schwehr, Joaquin Chapa and Tyler Raymond.
Lukezic looks strong with less than a lap to go.
R-L: Perkins, Schwehr, Raymond and Chapa.
Joaquin Chapa, the Oregon State 1,500m champion, will be a freshman at Stanford next fall.
Chris Lukezic held off a late charge from Sam Vasquez to win his second-straight title in 3:49.69.
