Stanford's Grant Robison leads early on in the first semi-final.
The top four runners in each semi, plus the next four fastest times would advance.

The two semis of the 1,500 ended up being nearly evenly matched, with six runners advancing out of each.
With two laps to go, Pyrah holds a slight lead.
Berryhill checks out the competition with one lap to go.
Washington's Eric Garner and Kansas' Charlie Gruber lead with a lap to go...
...With Berryhill, Pyrah and the rest of the pack right behind.
Down the home stretch, Berryhill leads Wilson, Garner, Robison and Lunn.
Berryhill won the first semi-final easily in 3:42.60.
Dan Wilson (3:43.23), Jason Lunn (3:43.39) and Grant Robison (3:43.47) grabbed the other auto-qualifying spots.
Jason Pyrah (3:43.87) and Eric Garner (3:43.88) advanced on time.
300 meters into semi-final two, Stanford's Gabe Jennings leads.
