Peterson (1:48.23), Strutzel (1:48.32), Kuzma (1:48.50) and Stember (1:48.60) advanced to the final.
Timothy Dunne ran 1:54.25 and did not advance.

Chris Lukezic of Auburn, WA leads, also in there are UCLA's Ben Aragon, Peter Meindl and Phil Gaeta.
Approaching 800 meters to go, Lukezic, Adam Perkins and Meindl lead the tightly-bunched pack.
Lukezic displayed an amazing kick in the previous day's semi-final, the question would be if he could pull off a repeat performance here.
Gileat Ghebray of CA's James Logan High School leads Jordan Kinley of Carrillo High.
With just over one lap to go, Lukezic and Perkins (of Liberty, MO High School) distance themselves from the field.
Perkins works hard to keep up with Lukezic.

Lukezic pulled away on the final lap to win in 3:47.32.
Perkins finished second in 3:49.09.
Justin Romaniuk (R) took third (3:52.83, Andrew Fader fourth (3:52.94) and Brendan Robinson fifth (3:53.20).

Meb Keflezighi (right) leads the way.
A handful of the runners in the field were doubling back from the previous night's 10,000m final.
Matt Lane, Bolota Asmeron and Beb Keflezighi lead.
