David Cullum moves up into eighth place.
Dave Davis leads Mike Donnelly.
Greg Jimmerson.
Richie Brinker.
Brinker again.
Chris Seaton.
Tom Kloos.
Joe Gibson.
Gibson tries to stay on his feet going down one of the more slippery hills on the course.
And though Keflezighi was leading when then headed off into the back loop...
...Culpepper made a big move and was on his own with less than 100 meters to go.
Keflezighi is visible on the far left side of the photo.
Culpepper made it a husband-wife double as he won his first XC national title since 1999 in 38:22.
Meb Keflezighi finished second in 38:34. Indicating how tough the mud made this course...
...Keflezighi ran two minutes and 37 seconds slower on this course than he did on the Vancouver, WA course a year ago.
Ed Torres held on to the third spot and finished in 39:04.
Torres ran a good CU-style race, starting in the pack and picking runners off as he went.
Torres is in the middle of the indoor track season at CU. He'll have to balance that with a trip to Lausanne, Switzerland...
...at the end of March to represent the U.S. at the World Championships.
