Bucher of Switzerland was the favorite heading in, having gone
undefeated all season. |
With
400m to go, Wilfred Bungei of Kenya leads, followed by Bucher,
William Yiampoy, #954 Hezekiel Sepeng, #772 Khalid Tighazouine,
Mbulaeni Mulaudzi, Nils Schumann and Pawel Czapiewski. |
Bucher
(1st, 1:43.70) made a strong move into the lead on the back
stretch, passing Bungei (2nd, 1:44.55). #885 Czapiewski (3rd,
1:44.63) came from way back to edge Kenya's Yiampoy for the
bronze. |
